Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must fulfill certain minimum academic standards, regardless of their place of origin or educational backgrounds:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent qualification recognized by McGill University) in a field closely associated with the graduate field of study.
  • The Master’s program at McGill requires the successful completion of a four-year degree in a related field at an accredited institution unless otherwise stated. A Master’s degree in a comparable field from an accredited university is required for admission to a doctorate program.
  • A Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.2 out of 4.0 in the final two years of full-time study, or a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0, is the required minimum. However, admission to some departments calls for a higher CGPA.
