Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen

Due to the lack of ACT and SAT testing during the pandemic, NMT will grant scholarships solely on the basis of GPA to the incoming fall 2021 class. The Presidential Scholarship, on the other hand, will still require verification of National Merit Finalist status. We encourage students to apply for scholarships as soon as possible because money is limited.

Scholarships for Transfer Students

At New Mexico Tech, eligible students are granted one merit scholarship. In order to be eligible for any merit scholarship, prospective students must be enrolled full-time (12 hours or more per semester). To be eligible, students must be pursuing their first bachelor’s degree and must have transferred from a U.S. college or university.

Incoming International Transfer Students

The following are the general requirements for transfer scholarships:

  • Your application for admission must be complete.
  • Your transcripts must show that you have completed at least 30 credits at a college or institution in the United States.
  • If you are neither a U.S. citizen or a verified permanent resident, you must be in legal F1 or J1 student status (green card holder)
NMT Endowed Scholarships

New Mexico Tech is able to give endowed scholarships to NMT students because to the generous generosity of our scholarship donors; these scholarships are in addition to NMT merit awards. Each endowed scholarship has its own set of requirements as well as a deadline. If the UNM scholarship has particular requirements and the student appears to meet them, they will be invited to apply by campus e-mail. This website lists endowed scholarships handled by the Financial Aid Office, and fliers are distributed across campus when applications are open. On their due date, all applications will close at 5:00 p.m.
